The University of Westminster traces its origins back nearly 170 years to the founding of the Royal Polytechnic Institution on the site of its present headquarters in Regent Street. It was there, in 1896, that Louis Lumière gave the first showing of moving pictures to the British public and that many areas of professional practice and technology - including photography - were first taught.
Today the distinctive listed Edwardian building stands at the heart of a cosmopolitan university, made up of four campuses three in central London and one in Harrow, north west London. 309 Regent Street is the University of Westminster headquarters and it prides itself on providing great facilities – both for its students and the scores of corporate clients using its meeting rooms, halls and lecture theatres for a wide range of events.
With state-of-the art IT, a choice of period and modern buildings, Oxford and Regent Streets within walking distance from all the central London sites, the University of Westminster is the ideal location for meetings and other types of functions. However, if one wishes to avoid the hustle and bustle of the capital, there is the Harrow campus waiting to welcome the visitor. Surrounded by green open fields, it is only 20 minutes away by tube to Baker Street and Regent‘s Park. So, whatever your choice, we can meet your requirements and those of your
delegates and find the right venue for your events.
