The Conference and Events Team at MMU are excited to announce that they can now offer their excellent meeting venue The Council Chamber all year round. Jill Richardson, Sales & Marketing says “we are delighted that we can now book the Council Chamber throughout the year, the venue is a firm favourite with many existing clients and it is suitable for a wide variety of events”
The Council Chamber is a large, classical room and can offer a range of flexible layouts (Cabaret 64, Theatre 80, and Boardroom 24). It has full multi media equipment, WiFi, high speed internet access and two extra breakout rooms (capacity 10) next to the main meeting room.
It is an ideal training venue and with a day delegate rate of £25.00 offers excellent value for city centre Manchester. Manchester Metropolitan University to open landmark new Business School
Due to open in 2012, Manchester Metropolitan University’s stunning new Business School is already transforming the All Saint’s Campus on the Oxford Road like a giant piece of Contemporary Art.
The new Building will feature some of the best facilities in Europe, setting a new standard for business schools and providing excellent conference and event facilities.
Pioneering design
The highly-original jewel-shaped building, features three individual towers under a stunning glass atrium which will reach 8 storeys at its highest point sloping down to 4 storeys at its entrance on the park. .The glazed façade is designed to let in the maximum amount of natural daylight and at the same time refract colours that react to the changing patterns of the sun and daylight..
Designed by award winning sustainable design firm Fielden Clegg Bradley, the 20,000 square metre building will be at the "forefront of green development" in the city and will have strong green credentials, including a ground source heat pump used for cooling and heating, ground water recycling and the use of low 'embodied energy' materials.

In Autumn 2010 MMU Cheshire unveiled two key new buildings which are a further step in a
50 million facelift for the Crewe campus. In October, the £6million Contemporary Arts
Building was opened. This state-of-the-art facility features a 144-seat theatre studio, a
124-seat dance studio, rehearsal studios, music studios, an exhibition space and a
licensed café/bar. Alongside, the new £10 million sports science centre is a world class
facility and includes two 4-court sports halls, a 50 station fitness gym and a 3G
artificial turf pitch. Both new venues are available to hire and are perfect for
performance or sporting events, short courses, summer schools, presentations and awards,
auditions and trials and examinations. MMU is currently in partnership with Cheshire East
to host pre-Olympics 2012 training camps.
