East Stand redevelopment at Elland Road
21/11/2011
Work is steaming ahead on the first phase of the multi-million pound East Stand redevelopment at Elland Road, the home of Leeds United Football Club.
A brand new floor has been created offering luxury executive boxes and two modern, high specification event spaces.
Within the East Stand facilities you will enjoy stylish surroundings, with a brand new dedicated reception entrance, fast executive lifts, a goods lift and panoramic views of the city.
The popular Lorimer Suite, with floor to ceiling windows, has been doubled in size and now provides 450sqm of prime space suitable for conferences, exhibitions and events.
This further enhances the excellent facilities offered at Elland Road along with a prime location adjacent to the M621 motorway and ample free parking.
Further phases will see the construction of a hotel and nightclub on site.
Other popular suites at the Stadium are the Centenary Pavilion 2018 sqm, the Nicky Chapman Suite 532sqm, and the Bremner Suite, which is 394sqm.
Conference & Events Manager Helen Briden said: “The ongoing developments at Elland Road ensure we can offer a one-stop solution to conference and exhibition organisers.
“Our flexible facilities ensure we can meet the needs of any industry sector. We pride ourselves on our level headiness approach and experience, helping to ensure the smooth running of our clients’ events.
“Organisers expect quality and value for money at all times and especially now in this challenging economic climate.
“At Elland Road Stadium we continually strive to offer exceptional facilities, food and customer service, maintaining our position as one of the premier venues in the North of England.”
Centenary Pavilion launch
11/11/2010
Leeds United legend Allan Clarke performed the opening ceremony of the new Centenary Pavilion in front of an invited audience of almost 600 guests on November 10, 2010.
The glitzy official opening took place on Wednesday with Leeds United chairman Ken Bates, Leeds United manager Simon Grayson, and Allan Clarke among the guests. Welcome to Yorkshire CEO Gary Verity was also among the speakers.
The multi-million pound venue, which has already staged Harvey Nicholls first out-of-store fashion show away from London, first opened its doors on September 23, and has already staged a number of major exhibitions.
The new Centenary Pavilion, named after the club’s FA Cup win in 1972, can hold almost 3,000 visitors and seat over 1,200 people guests for dinner and is one of the biggest venues of its kind in Northern England.
Leeds United chairman Ken Bates said: “This is a magnificent venue. Hopefully it will be important to Leeds and there will be spin-offs for the rest of Yorkshire. We will be able to bring functions here that would be held outside of the county.”
On seeing the venue for the first time since completion, Gary Verity said: “It’s spectacular. It’s a great asset for the club, the city of Leeds and the county of Yorkshire. What this particular venue brings to the party is the scale and size of it. If you want to do a big event or a sit-down dinner for a 1,000 people plus the choice of options in Yorkshire are narrow, so in terms of being able to host and accommodate the prestigious dinners this brings that to the party. This venue also has great access.”
Helen Briden Conference and Events Manager said: “This is a very proud time for us all here at Elland Road. The opening has given us an opportunity to showcase our excellent facilities, food and service to the top Conference and exhibition organisers in the UK. We have had excellent feedback from the event and look forward to our guests hosting their events with us in the future.
The Centenary Pavilion also can also be divided into two suites, named after two of the club’s heroes from that win against Arsenal, Clarke and Mick Jones.
Clarke said: “I feel emotional and humbled. It is a magnificent venue for the football club and the city. Football now is a business and this facility will bring benefits off the field that are important to the club.”
The official opening featured performances from Tenors Unlimited, the Globe Girls, Jazz band Mr Swing, and 11-year-old comedian Jack Carroll, who suffers with cerebral palsy.

Leeds United legends Allan Clarke and Paul Reaney kicked-off a charity fashion show for the first big event to take place at the club’s new Centenary Pavilion.
The new Pavilion played host to a Football versus Fashion event in association with Harvey Nicholls and Yorkshire Cancer Research.
A star-studded audience turned out for the black-tie fundraiser to mark the 85th anniversary of YCR as an independent charity. To celebrate the occasion, it was the first time Harvey Nicholls has undertaken an out-of-store show.
Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, followed by a four-course dinner.
The Centenary Pavilion, which can seat over 1,200, only opened for the first time the previous weekend when over 3,000 fans gave Lucas Radebe a heroes reception ahead of the club’s game against Sheffield United.
Bookings are already being taken for the new Pavilion, which is also divisible into two smaller suites, named after Allan Clarke and Mick Jones, two of the Leeds United heroes from the 1972 FA Cup final.
