Willington Hall was built in 1829 as a private house for the Tomkinson family. It was converted into a restaurant in 1977 and a little later into an hotel with 10 bedrooms. The interior has retained its period features whilst having undergone major refurbishment under the ownership of Diana and Stuart Begbie.

The Hamiltons Banqueting Suite and The Richmond Room are suited for either conferences or private dining. Willington Hall has 4 main conference rooms making it an ideal location for holding meetings and conferences for up to 150 delegates. The Richmond room, within the hotel, the Duddon and Kelsall rooms in the Hamilton Suite, and the Hamilton Room itself, can accommodate up to 150 for theatre style presentations.
