with a high degree of flexibility.
Imagine dining under a suspended Harrier jump-jet, making a presentation with the backdrop of an historic artillery piece, or dancing beside a T34 Russian tank: this is one of the most unusual and impressive event venues in the UK.
You can also choose to incorporate the Museum’s award-winning Big Picture as part of your event. This amazing 360 degree audio visual show combines sound and vision on a massive scale, and provides an unforgettable experience for your guests.
In terms of event capacity, Imperial War Museum North is equally outstanding. We can cater for up to 380 guests for dinner; in the case of a reception the number can go as high as 700. If you require theatre-style, we can seat up to 300 people. We also have spaces in the Museum ideally suited to smaller, more intimate gatherings.

The Main Exhibition Space at Imperial War Museum North is exceptionally adaptable – it’s the ideal ‘blank canvas’ that can be closely tailored to your individual needs.
At 9 metres high, the space is particularly suited to dramatic visual effects and creative lighting. We offer a built-in PA system and equipment such as LCD projectors and plasma screens. Imperial War Museum North can also provide technical support.
Road and rail links are excellent, including the nearby Metrolink light rail system. Manchester city centre is two miles away, and Manchester International Airport is within half an hour’s drive. Located at The Quays on the edge of Manchester city centre, Imperial War Museum North is close to a wide choice of quality hotels.
