The City Rooms is a beautiful Georgian Grade I listed building located in the heart of Leicester City Centre. The historic venue, built in 1792, was intended to house the City's first ever hotel, complete with Leicester's most opulent Ballroom and function suites. However, the hotel bedrooms were never completed.
Now The City Rooms has been carefully restored back to its former glory. Comprising 4 function suites including the grand Ballroom, a bar and 4 luxurious bedrooms, The City Rooms is now open as first intended, after more than 200 years in the making.
The City Rooms is suitable for hosting meetings from 2 to 200 delegates. All meeting rooms are lavishly designed and maintain their original grand windows and fireplaces.
The magnificent Ballroom runs the whole width of the first floor of the building and provides a grand setting for up to 200 delegates. Flooded with natural daylight from three large windows, together with its high ceiling, chandeliers and historical artifacts, it is a truly breathtaking space. For large scale conferences the three rooms downstairs, on the ground floor with the bar, make ideal syndicate or breakout areas. We also have a lift fitted to ensure the Ballroom is readily accessible for all guests.
The Bar contains probably one of the most unusual elements of the ground floor - a free standing staircase with cast iron banisters sweeping grandly to a solid wall, a great reminder of the venue's history.
The second and third floors contain four luxurious hotel suites. Each room is uniquely decorated and comes complete with an LCD TV, DVD player, Internet access and a mini bar, providing the ideal place for delegates to relax overnight.
