Gold for St Georges Hotel
Leading North Wales Hotel, St Georges Hotel has just been awarded the prestigious Gold Award from Visit Wales following a rigorous series of mystery visits and assessments by independent inspectors.
The stunning four-star hotel is now in the top 3% of all hotels in Wales which have been graded by Visit Wales and is one of only 13 hotels to have achieved the standard this year.
After a major refurbishment all 75 rooms have been beautifully decorated with air-conditioning, high speed internet access and many with balcony access and stunning views across the bay of Llandudno.
The hotel has a variety of dining options to suit all tastes including the AA Rosette winning Terrace Restaurant, serving a mouth watering selection of dishes sourced within Conwy and North Wales. The Terrace Lounge serves light lunches, traditional afternoon teas and the best espresso and cappuccino in the area.
Among the function suites in the hotel is the stunning Grade II listed Wedgwood Suite which is one of the largest function rooms in North Wales and has hosted many prestigious events in its 150 year history including political party conferences for Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, esteemed Guests have included Winston Churchill, Tony Blair and more recently Gordon Brown.
The Heritage Minister Alun Ffred Jones congratulated the tourism businesses which have been listed, he said: “The gold award businesses exceed customer expectation and are first class products in all respects. These businesses are making an exceptional contribution to the quality of the Welsh tourism product and they are to be commended for their efforts.
