A major refurbishment of all meeting rooms, exterior and public areas was completed Summer 07, complimented by an ongoing upgrade of bedrooms from October 07, with the addition of a number of Premium Bedrooms for the more discerning guest.
Our team will look after you as an individual, with genuine warmth and personal attention. The Hotel is located within a few minutes walk from the train station and five minutes from Chelmsford town centre making this a superb location to stay if you are visiting Chelmsford or it's surrounding areas.
Our facilities are wide ranging including; 50 bedrooms. the acclaimed County Restaurant, , Function Rooms, Conference Facilities, Ballroom for large meetings and banquets for up to 150 people, Civil Wedding License, and modern Lounge bar. We offer the perfect venue for breakfast meetings, morning coffee and pastries, lunch and dinner menus and afternoon teas. The Lounge Bar menu is available from 11am to 10pm.
Our Entertainment Programme features everything from Christmas meals and Dinner Dances through to Mystery Murder Nights and regular Dinner Dances throughout the year, so there's always a reason to come down and join in at The County.
The County is a popular meeting and conference venue. All meeting rooms are purpose built and have natural daylight. Day Delegate and 24 Hr Delegate Rates are available. We offer FREE Wi-Fi in all meeting rooms with additional equipment to order. We can accommodate 2 to 150 delegates. Our Delegate Rates are extremely competitive and include room hire, coffee breaks, bacon rolls or Danish pastry on arrival, lunches and either a cake selection or ice creams in the afternoon.
Need a early start ! We can provide Grab ''n' Go Breakfasts for your delegates from 6am.

CONSERVATIVE CLUB OF CHELMSFORD 2010
The centenary dinner held at your hotel on the 9th April 2010 was a huge success. I would like to congratulate the chef for an excellent meal, the presentation was equally impressive. The staff in the ballroom carried out their duties with the utmost efficiancy, to which I am certain helped to create a brilliant atmosphere. Edwina Curry and her husband John enjoyed the evening immensly and would like to you know how delighted they were with their accomodation.
