On 9 July 1867, "a group of gentlemen met for the purpose of starting a football team". The Queen's Park Football Club was born.
Today, Hampden Park is the new home of Scottish Hospitality. The Lounges in the South Stand offer a wide range of facilities for conferences, exhibitions, meetings, receptions, dinners and lunches. Hampden is Scotland's National Stadium and there is not a ground in Britain that has comparable facilities.
Hampden is situated in 33 acres of land with sites adjacent to it ready for redevelopment and committed to sport and leisure in the City Council's Structure Plan. The Club, and more particularly Hampden Park Limited which is responsible for delivering the Project and for its future viability, is working with the City Council to ensure that future land developments acknowledge and, wherever possible, integrate with the needs of the Stadium. The concept of a campus has evolved with the National Stadium at its hub, the centrepiece of the initiative, with facilities for other sports and youth development at hand.
