Worcester was the site of the final battle of the civil war where Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army defeated King Charles II’s Cavaliers.
Every three years Worcester hosts the three choirs festival, which is shared with Hereford and Gloucester with each city hosting it each year. This festival celebrates English music with the likes of Elgar and Vaughan Williams. The city also has the Worcester festival, which has a variety of music and, theatre, cinema and workshops.
Close to the M5 motorway and several A-roads the city is well connected to places such as London, Gloucester, Aberystwyth, Hereford and Birmingham. The Worcester warriors’ rugby stadium, the Sixways stadium, has conference facilities that can hold 1200 delegates. The stadium provides parking, dining and land for team building exercises. This stadium is the largest venue in Worcester. Worcester racecourse is another sporting venue offering conference facilities this time with 300 possible delegates.
The Bank House Hotel, Golf and country club has six suites with capacities ranging from 25 to 400. The Hadley Bowling Green inn is a grade II Victorian listed building located in the Worcestershire countryside.
