The Royal Institution has been holding public science events for over 200 years and is renowned for its ground-breaking research, being home to 14 Nobel prize winners and the discovery of 10 chemical elements. Our most famous scientist, Michael Faraday, set up the Christmas Lectures for children, which are televised each year. The completion of a 822 million redevelopment has transformed our Mayfair building into an exciting and inspiring venue, providing a unique mix of historic and modern spaces. The famous Faraday Theatre has been fitted out with new seating, AV and lighting, making it ideal for conferences, award shows, and screenings, while our elegant Georgian rooms provide the perfect backdrop for a meeting, dinner or drinks party. Our stunning glass atrium is a new addition to our event spaces and we now also have a wedding licence for civil ceremonies and partnerships. Delegates and guests are welcome to visit our free museum and relax in Time & Space, the new cafB, bar and restaurant run by our in-house caterers Digby Trout.
