Stephenson’s Rocket will return to

years from the 25 September 2018.
Rocket was built to run on the Liverpool

Rocket won the Rainhill Trials, which was a
competition to decide on the best mode of
transport for the railway.
The technology applied to the design of
Rocket was soon extended across the entire
railway network, paving the way for the
modern rail network and shaping the course
of the history.
Seize this once-in-a lifetime opportunity to
dine next to an iconic symbol of the world’s
oldest surviving passenger railway, the
terminus of the Liverpool and Manchester
Railway which is now home to the museum.

first inter-city railway
opened, on 15 September

railway station, and for over
140 years, they were the
scene of non-stop activity,
as people and goods
travelled in and out, around
the clock. SIM are now

conference, dinner or
