Heckfield Place is a magnificent 18th century manor house resting in 65 acres of parkland with spectacular views across two lakes. There is an attractive terrace including a wonderful walled garden and a courtyard, all bordered by natural woodlands. Steeped in history, it is an ideal location for conferences, teambuilding activities, special events and weddings or simply as a relaxing retreat from the rigours of the office. Relax in one of our 68 comfortable bedrooms with many having views across the lakes or gardens and woodlands. Spend a while exploring the historic gardens and breathtaking landscape. Heckfield Place boasts an enviable arboretum of very rare conifer trees from around the world. In the Victorian period, it was famed for its terraces and walled garden. During this period William Walker Wildsmith was Heckfield's famous head gardener. Through his work and determination he succeeded in changing the views on garden design and Victorian flower beds forever. Much of the garden has been asleep since the death of Wildsmith in 1890. However, through the dedication and passion of our head gardener, a lecturer with the Royal Horticultural Society, it is now being transformed back to it's former glorious appearance.
