We are pleased to announce a new partnership for our hotels with Greengage Solutions.
We have chosen to work with Greengage Solutions because they are experts in providing practical advice for driving environmental sustainability in business travel and can help us create and implement a sustainable approach.
All of our hotels have joined the Greenage ECOsmart Hotel Accreditation Scheme. This scheme recognises and supports eco-friendly hotels and conference venues that meet certified standards of sustainability.
Hotels and venues are assessed on over 50 "eco measures" in five categories - Energy and Water Conservation; Waste Management and Recycling; Rooms and Facilities Management; Sustainable Food and Beverage Management; Corporate and Social Responsibility. Those properties that meet the required standards are certified with an ECOsmart award.
We are delighted to say that all 10 of our hotels have been certified with an ECOsmart award, with 9 awarded Gold and Holiday Inn South Normanton awarded Platinum. This confirms that extensive measures have taken place to fully embrace environmental sustainability at our hotels.
Some of our practices include:
A purchasing plan giving preference to sustainable, local, fairtrade and environmentally friendly produce.
Environmental sustainability / energy efficiency staff training
Bathroom amenities that are free from parabens and petroleum /mineral oil derived ingredients. Containing natural compounds.
All single use plastic eliminated, recycling glass, paper and other recyclable materials, policy for reduction of food waste, eco friendly cleaning products.
LED or low energy lighting used, green/renewable energy supplier, restrictors fitted to reduce water flow on taps, showers and toilets.
