Yarnfield Park completes the first phase of their 2 year multi-million pound refurbishment plan

We have completed the first phase of our 2 year £3.5m redevelopment programme to create fresh and contemporary event spaces, refitted bedrooms and a brand new restaurant.

Over the last 12 months, after consultation with our key clients, analysis of future event trends and to meet demand, we‘ve opened two brand new event spaces, the Cedar Suite, a new 250 theatre style conference/meeting space and the Oak Suite, a new private dining facility for up to 250.

A brand new restaurant also opened this summer which follows the great reception received when the new bar and lounge opened late last year.

In addition, we‘ve completed the upgrade to our largest event space, the 450 capacity Knighton Suite, to include a totally new AV solution, with new ceiling mounted projectors, stage backdrop, lectern and repeater screens.

Alongside this, 60 executive bedrooms all of which have been completely refurbished, are now available for use.

And there‘s more… Our meeting rooms Maple, Willow and Beech have been given a refresh and our new 400 capacity (free) car park has been completed.
We have further redevelopment plans for 2017 and will be refreshing more of our meeting spaces and will complete the refurbishment of a further 100 bedrooms. Watch this space…
6 tips to help your business exhibit effectively at your next industry exhibition

Whether exhibiting at a large national training centre or a smaller venue, we know that exhibitions can provide excellent opportunities to get leads, build business relationships and even make sales. But how should businesses ensure that they get the most out of an exhibition?

Head of Sales and Marketing at national training centre, Yarnfield Park, Richard Smith gives us 6 helpful tips

• Remember to speak to other exhibitors not just the delegates - exhibitions are the perfect opportunity to network, and whether you're selling digital marketing or recruitment services, the people at the expo are there because they are interested in what you're doing.


• Tell people that you're attending – if you use social media, tell your followers that you're exhibiting at the event, what you will be offering and where you will be located. Use the hashtag associated with the event to join in with the buzz of the exhibition and generate some social media engagement for your brand.


• Choose your space wisely – check out what other businesses are exhibiting and where they will be located. Try and select a space in a main walkway and away from competitors if possible.


• Try and secure a speaker session – many events have keynote speaker spots. These can be great opportunities to position yourself as a thought leader in your sector. You may also gain more publicity before the event. Speak to the event organisers to see if this is a possibility.


• Attract people to your stand - think bright colours, quirky giveaways, competitions and attractive marketing materials. You've invested time and money for this event – make the most of it and stand out from the crowd!


• Check the WiFi capabilities at the venue – If the event is likely to be very busy, WiFi services may be slow or unavailable. Check that the WiFi is suitable for what you need on the day and make sure you're prepared. Choose a conference centre with fast WiFi if you can!

Yarnfield Park opens newly refurbished bar as part of multi-million £ investment programme


Yarnfield Park, one of the UK‘s largest residential training and conference centres, has confirmed that its £2.75m programme of investment is now underway. The venue which has seen significant growth in its training and conference business over the last 4 years is upgrading all areas of its business, from the bar and restaurant through to its accommodation and event space.

The initial phase has seen the large bar area completely redeveloped to create 2 complementary but distinct areas. It opened on the 24th September to great reviews. This is being followed by a rolling programme which will take around 2 years to complete, with bedrooms and meeting spaces upgraded on a gradual basis. This will ensure that work can be undertaken during quieter phases of the calendar, such as August and December, to ensure there is no disruption to the busy programme of events and training programmes.

Two years ago we invested £0.25m in our superfast internet and Wi-Fi solution and immediately saw the benefits of such a significant project. This latest and much larger investment will see upgrades across all areas of the centre�. Yarnfield Park appoints new Commercial Sales Manager to lead corporate sales development.
Yarnfield Park has appointed Jane Hemmings into a senior sales role to lead the venue's push into the corporate sector. Jane, who joins from Proto Labs, will be looking to identify corporate organisations that have ongoing training and meeting requirements. Richard Smith, head of sales said, "Jane's role is at the heart of our next 3 year journey here at Yarnfield Park. We've made great inroads into the association and government sectors. Yarnfield Park offers organisers free dedicated 300mb Internet

Staffordshire-based Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre has launched what it claims is one of the fastest dedicated Internet solutions available at any conference or training venue in the UK.

The dedicated 300mb superfast connection is available across all its meeting, accommodation and public spaces. This free service allows delegates to easily access online learning resources, stream videos, download large capacity data, live link and share information easily and effectively.

The system allows for 800 concurrent connections and lends itself perfectly to both residential conferences and hybrid events.

�We know that organisers are crying out for better Wi-Fi and internet at venues and we believe that we now meet and exceed these requirements,� says the Yarnfield Park Site Director, Ian Parkinson.

�The installation of the system follows an analysis of the Internet solutions available at conference and training destinations along with an extensive dialogue with event organisers.

Richard Smith, Head of Sales at the venue added: �We needed to ensure that the solution more than exceeded customers‘ needs for now but also had one eye on the future. As such, we‘ve ensured that the capacity can be further increased. We‘ve also committed to ensure this service is free to organisers and delegates alike. They have a right to expect an outstanding Internet solution and this is what we offer.�

In addition the venue has announced that it can now sleep over 400 delegates on site, as it has twinned just over 60 of its 338 bedrooms. It has also has increased the number of meeting spaces in its main conference centre to 25 with the addition of three new spaces, including the 100-delegate capacity Maple and Willow suites.

Yarnfield Park will continue this year of investment with upgraded technical facilities and a new website, due for a mid-summer launch.

A New Face

Following the major growth of our business at Yarnfield Park over the last couple of years, our team has been strengthened by the appointment of Sharon Jezeph into the newly created role of Commercial Sales Manager. We are delighted to welcome Sharon who has over 10 years experience within the hospitality industry and who has joined us from The Belfry. Sharon‘s remit will be to grow key accounts, raise the profile of the venue and take a leading role in
developing the sales plan.
Sharon says of her new role:

The main conference room, the ‘Knighton Suite‘ is now capable of seating up to 400 delegates in a theatre style.
This increased capacity along with the standard offering of PA system with Surround Speakers, Lectern and stage, radio, tie clip and lectern Mics and Ceiling Mounted projectors with drop down Twin Screens all at no extra cost make the Knighton Suite a facility to turn heads!
