Villa Park wins Venue of the Year
The Holte Suite was named ‘Venue of the Year’ at the prestigious Birmingham Awards on Saturday night.

The Villa Park hospitality area came out on top against high-quality venues from across the city, with staff on hand to accept the award on stage at the Library of Birmingham.

Edgbaston, Resorts World Arena, The Birmingham Conference & Events Centre, The ICC, The National Motorcycle Museum, The Vox and Unique Venues Birmingham were also shortlisted for the award.

Laura Johns, Head of Sales Conference and Events for club catering partner Levy UK, was delighted to see the venue recognised.

She said: “We work hard to deliver an excellent experience at Villa Park all year round, so I’m thrilled that our efforts in the Holte Suite have been rewarded.

“This award is for the staff who work tirelessly on every matchday and at every event to ensure that the venue is a great place to be.”

Saturday’s accolade follows up the ‘Best Venue’ award given to Villa Park at last year’s Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards.

Head of Hospitality, Laura Worsey, was thrilled that the Holte Suite was chosen ahead of prestigious competitors.

She said: “We were up against some excellent venues from across Birmingham, which makes winning this award even more special.

“We see Villa Park as the premier venue in the region for both football supporters and corporate clients, and this award is justification of that.”
Villa Park Tours ranked No.1 in Birmingham by travellers on TripAdvisor

Villa Park tours ranked No.1 in Birmingham
Our Villa Park tours have been ranked as the best in Birmingham by travellers on TripAdvisor.

Our stadium is top of the pile in the shortlist of 32 best tour locations in the second city.

Villa Park tours have proved highly popular once again this season, with thousands of Midlands-based and international fans coming to see our venue in all its glory.

We’ve also seen a record number of schools, colleges and universities from as far afield as America choosing Villa Park as a destination of interest, thanks to our specially adapted educational tours.

Sunday tours, which have a full roast dinner option alongside the tour, have proven a hit, too, as have our individual or business private tours.

Tour guide Diane Russell, who has been part of the team since 2004, said: “Half term was extremely busy (as usual with school holidays) and I was thrilled with the amount of people wanting to visit.

"It’s especially enjoyable to welcome children for the first time, for them to see our fantastic stadium, follow the players’ matchday routine, hear some of our wonderful history, talk all things Aston Villa and, of course, take lots of photos to make memories and be part of the Villa family."

As recently as this month, our Norwegian Lions branch flew over in big numbers for a special tour and matchday experience.

Ingolf Olsen, Norwegian Lions Chairman, said: “We brought a group of 50 over from Norway for the Derby County game and had a fantastic time on the tour.

"The food was excellent as always and it topped off a great weekend with the 4-0 win!”

Our educational tours have also received high praise of late, with Adrian Price, Course Leader in Sport at the Heart of Worcestershire College, lauding the all-round experience from booking to departure.

He said: "Whether you're a Villa fan or not, the Villa Park stadium tour is one of the best tours in the country.

"From the initial booking through to the final goodbye from the tour guide – the customer service is second to none.

"Over a 10-year period I have visited the stadium with numerous student groups who have studied sport and business at degree level.

"Every visit has offered something new, from viewing the directors lounge to the kit sponsor box to entering the changing rooms and heading pitchside to take a seat in the dugout.

"I thoroughly recommend the education stadium tour to all age groups."

As always, Villa Park looks to innovate and offer fresh incentives to its tours.

Add a stadium tour to any event, tailored to the available time.
