Homebuilder raises more than £80,000 for national children’s charity

In 2015, homebuilder, Strata Homes, raised an astonishing £80,000 for national charity, When You Wish Upon a Star. The charity is devoted to making dreams come true for children living with terminal and life-threatening illnesses. Children’s wishes include magical parties, days out and family trips to Center Parcs or even Walt Disney World in Florida.
Strata’s fundraising events that contributed towards this total included a Great Builder’s Bake Off, the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge and a 47-mile bike ride between developments. However, the highlight was the Charity Summer Ball that took place at NEW DOCK Hall with over 700 guests and raised a huge £50,010.91.
The cheque for £80,198.89 was presented to When You Wish Upon a Star Area Manager, Joanne Wright, who said that ‘The Strata team has put a huge amount of effort into raising money for the charity this year. The highlight of the year had to be their fundraising Ball, which was a fantastic night and one which raised a huge amount of money.’
Strata Homes'2016 Charity Summer Ball is just around the corner, on Saturday 16th July and this year they are hoping to raise just as much, if not more money, for Leeds based charity Little Hiccups. Little Hiccups is a parent led support group for children and families with special needs and disabilities.
