Conference venues in Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth or Yarmouth as the locals know it, is one of the UK’s major towns for offshore energy sources.  In the 1960’s oil was discovered in the North Sea and Yarmouth flourished in the oil industry. Today it brings in offshore natural gas to be transported to natural gas power plants. The North Denes heliport serves the gas platforms with CHC helicopter. The town’s coastal area is being put to good energy use however as a wind farm with 30 turbines was recently opened just offshore from the town. An industrial location makes a good impression for corporate events. 

Great Yarmouth is known for being a seaside resort and its seafront is known as the golden mile. Many thousands of visitors travel to the town every year to visit its sandy beaches and amusement parks situated on the seafront. Yarmouth’s beaches are home to a lot of wildlife such as grey seals, Mediterranean gulls, little terns and skylarks. For any wildlife enthusiasts the business venues in the town make ideal meeting rooms.

In 2003 and 2004 Great Yarmouth was the site of T4 on the Beach until it was moved to western super mare in 2005. At this time however it was called pop beach, not T4 on the beach.

The Great Yarmouth railway station is connected too Norwich and Liverpool street London, whilst its busses have regular visits to Peterborough, Norwich, Lowestoft and Kings Lynn. Major roads terminating at Great Yarmouth are the A12, A47 and the A143, which connect the town to London and Lowestoft. The town is perfectly situated to receive delegates from London and Norwich.

The town has many hotels with conference facilities including the Imperial hotel, Burlington Palm hotel, Hamilton hotel and the St George hotel. The Fastolff business centre and the Yarmouth stadium both have meeting rooms and conference rooms. For slightly alternate venues try the Yarmouth racecourse or the Grosvenor Casino.
