Conference venues in Portsmouth
Portsmouth has been a naval port for centuries, and it is now home to the worlds oldest dry dock which houses such ships as: the Tudor carrack Mary Rose, lord nelsons flagship the HMS Victory and the HMS Warrior-the first British iron armoured ship. Part of the old naval base is now a major dockyard for the royal navy and royal marine commandos who base their headquarters here.
The city is popular with people from overseas; this is backed up by the fact that Arnold schwarzenneger lived in Portsmouth for a while.
The city has three main road links to the mainland, heading to London, Bedhampton and Horndean. The city also has railway links to Southampton, London, Brighton and more. All this makes it a rather good location despite the fact that the city is an island city.
